بنام خداوند بخشنده و بخشایشگر
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
وَ الضُّحى 1
قسم به روز در آن هنگام که آفتاب برآيد (و همه جا را فراگيرد)،
I swear by the early hours of the day,
وَ اللَّيْلِ إِذا سَجى 2
و سوگند به شب در آن هنگام که آرام گيرد،
And the night when it covers with darkness.
ما وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَ ما قَلى 3
که خداوند هرگز تو را وانگذاشته و مورد خشم قرار نداده است!
Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased,
وَ لَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولى 4
و مسلما آخرت براي تو از دنيا بهتر است!
And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before.
وَ لَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضى 5
و بزودي پروردگارت آنقدر به تو عطا خواهد کرد که خشنود شوي!
And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.
أَ لَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيماً فَآوى 6
آيا او تو را يتيم نيافت و پناه داد؟!
Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?
وَ وَجَدَكَ ضَالاًّ فَهَدى 7
و تو را گمشده يافت و هدايت کرد،
And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)?
وَ وَجَدَكَ عائِلاً فَأَغْنى 8
و تو را فقير يافت و بي‌نياز نمود،
And find you in want and make you to be free from want?
فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلا تَقْهَرْ 9
حال که چنين است يتيم را تحقير مکن،
Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him).
وَ أَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلا تَنْهَرْ 10
و سؤال‌کننده را از خود مران،
And as for him who asks, do not chide (him),
وَ أَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ 11
و نعمتهاي پروردگارت را بازگو کن!
And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it).
